Where We Work
The benefits of our approach apply to new asset developments and brownfield optimization projects across several industrial markets. This includes biofuels and produced water treatment to natural gas and petrochemical processing. While we are headquartered in Calgary and maintain a satellite office in Houston.
Main Duties and Competencies
Support the Cost Control Lead and PM team by providing complex project reporting on a bi-weekly or monthly basis to ensure uncompromised quality. Perform various checks and balances throughout the life cycle of the project including recommendations. Provide support to other team members on their deliverables. Other duties include:
- Preparing EP / EPF cost reports and presenting to the Client
- Cash flow development and reporting
- Locked-in Accruals
- Monitoring commitments, incurred and actual costs
- Performing cost variance analysis
- Earned value management reporting
- Change Management Coordination
- Supporting class 3 cost estimates and control budget development
- Performing ad-hoc project analysis and support
- Managing databases and generating reports
- Performing other duties as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (commerce, engineering, or similar)
- Five to eight years of financial analysis experience
- Understanding of project cost control fundamentals with analytical skills and experience in financial analysis, modeling, and budgeting methodologies
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
- Advanced to expert level MS Excel skills (requires complex formulas from multiple sources and troubleshooting)
- Quality focused with acute attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient at handling multiple tasks and people at a time
Preferred
- Concentration in finance and accounting disciplines
- Recognized designation (CMA, MBA, CFA, etc.)
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project software
- Strong background in oil and gas industry
